Thesis performance/ 2018, Abu Dhabi

Writer, co-director, Designer, Performer

Set in a Black Box, the design of the performance invites the audience to an olfactory experience as they listen to the performer telling stories to reveal something about Hungarian identity. The carefully curated objects, the modified live sounds of frying oil, and the lighting design build an abstract kitchen that only exists in our minds.

Costume and Set Designer

This celebration of the works of Cuban-American playwright, Maria Irene Fornés, invites the audience to reimagine experiences and connections that comprise our human condition. The costume and set design juxtapose familiar and uncanny forms of human existence to inform the performers’ physicality and further challenge Fornes’s text.

An original performance devised by Anna Bernice Delos Reyes “ exploring the dialogue between the body and its changing environment. Abstracting guilty pleasures through paint, REVEL questions sources of self-judgement in relation to the enjoyment of perceived immoral pleasures. Drawing from personal experiences of sociocultural feminine expectations, this piece negotiates the tension between purity and pleasure in a woman’s coming of age journey.”

Produced under the guidance of Tomi Tsunoda and the support of the NYU Abu Dhabi Theater Programm.
